"Untamed Nostalgia - Wild Poems" 2004
This is Wafaa' Al-Natheema's first published poetry book. Wafaa' has been writing poetry and prose since the age of nine. "Untamed Nostalgia -- Wild Poems" is a reflection of the poet's feelings since a few hours after the onset of an illness in April 2002 and the aftermath of the "War on Terrorism". CD: Halamanteeshi Songs and Poems by Wafaa' Al-Natheema
Halamanteeshi is Wafaa's first produced CD of poems and songs. She recites poems (in English) from her book, "Untamed Nostalgia -- Wild Poems" accompanied by violin, saxophone and piano. The CD also features, one song in English, Iraqi children songs, lullabies and folkloric songs. Nine of the 12 songs are composed and vocally interpreted by Wafaa'.

Hussein Al-Athamy and the Tchalghi Baghdadi Concert in Cambridge, Mass., 2000
This educational and entertaining 1:45-hour video features the oldest and most challenging form of singing in Iraq. It includes songs from our Cambridge concert, poetry and some clips of interviews with the artists subtitled in English as well as a brief information about the youngest maqaam singer in the world, Jameel Saad. The concert features master maqaam singer, Hussein Al-Athamy, renowned Oud player, Ali Al-Imam, talented young (female) Jawza player, Dalia Yakob and percussionist Muhanned Abbas.
Naseer Shemma in Concert Sponsored by INEAS, 1995
The 1 3/4-hour tape features Naseer Shernma's performance in Cambridge on October 21, 1995. Shemma, a famous Iraqi composer and Oud (or Lute) player, is known for his unique compositions and a special performance techniques. He plays on the Oud using one hand to send a message to the handicapped not to give up playing if they wish. Shemma revived the ancient method of playing on the Oud using the fingers.
Lamee'a Abbas Amara in Boston by INEAS, 1994.
The 1 1/2-hour video tape includes the great poetry recited in Arabic by the famous Iraqi poetess, Larnee'a Abbas Amara, accompanied by Wafaa' Al-Natheema reciting Amara's poetry in English. Ms. Amara is known for her spontaneous and daring poetry. The messages she delivers and the words she chooses are musical and beautiful.
